Official Notice of the 2019 Annual General Meeting
Dear Naramata Centre Society Members,
The Naramata Centre Society Annual General Meeting will be held on June 29, 2019 at 2:30 PM at Columbia Hall. A worship service will be held prior to the AGM, beginning at 1:30 PM. Please arrive a half-hour in advance (1:00 PM) to register for the meeting and receive your voting card for the AGM.
All attendees are invited to a potluck dinner at Creekside Commons following the AGM. Please bring your own cutlery and dishes, and food to share with the community. We look forward to gathering to enjoy a meal together.
If you are planning to attend the Annual General Meeting, please RSVP online. While an RSVP isn't mandatory, it makes meeting planning much easier and will save you time on the day of the meeting.
Linked are several documents, which constitute formal aspects of the upcoming Annual General Meeting:
At the 2016 AGM, Naramata Centre Society members voted to allow proxy voting at future meetings. A voting member of the Society who is unable to attend the AGM may appoint a proxy holder to act on their behalf in the meetings, including to propose and second resolutions, participate in the discussion, and vote. A proxy holder must be a member of the Society for at least 3 months prior to the AGM and must be an individual 16 years of age or older. A proxy holder may only represent one member as their proxy.
To appoint a proxy holder, the absentee member must complete the proxy voting form. The proxy holder must present this form in person at the AGM.
We are currently engaged in developing a master site plan to guide development of the Centre lands. We have hired a consulting team, led by MODUS Planning Design and Engagement with local architects Landform Architecture. The plan will help guide our decisions for future use of our lands including those we are proposing to sell, highlight projects for improvement, explore potential shared community infrastructure and recommend phasing of development.
As part of the process, MODUS is organizing a two-day design charrette – an intensive participatory planning and design workshop. There are two opportunities for Centre members and supporters to participate. There will be a public session on Thursday, June 27 between 6pm and 8pm, and a public presentation of ideas Saturday, June 29 from 10:00 AM to noon. Both events will be held at Columbia Hall.
If you are traveling from out of town to attend our celebrations, we are offering special one-to-three night bookings for our Maple Court motel-style rooms and all of our campsites for the nights of June 27 to June 29. You can book online if you wish to stay for three nights. If you want to stay for one or two nights, please call the office at 250-496-5751 and we can book it for you.
