Can I come camp? And other Q & As from the Board Team

Hello from your Naramata Centre Society Board
Since the Annual General Meeting in June (2015) we have had a number of questions and requests for information from members and supporters of the Centre.  As a new Board we are working hard to develop our future direction and ensure the Centre, while closed, is safe and well cared for.  Below you will find the most commonly asked questions and answers to those questions.

Can I come and camp or stay at the Centre this summer?
No. The Centre remains closed and we will not be offering any services or accommodation as we are in a period of transition and discernment over what the future will be for Naramata Centre. This summer the Centre will not be open for camping or vacation rental.

How can I help care for the Centre?
Many people have volunteered to help maintain the Centre. We thank you and appreciate your desire and willingness to help with the ongoing work on the Centre site. Right now, we are currently assessing the work to be done and planning the best approach. Over the remaining weeks of the summer we will be reaching out to members and supporters with opportunities to share in the care of the Centre and to help us with discerning the future of the Society. If you’d like to be one of those who we reach out to,  please be sure that you have signed up for our emails by clicking here.

Can I rent accommodation at the Centre?
No. We currently have tenants living on the Centre property and we appreciate the contribution they make in keeping the site safe. However, as we move through this period of transition and discernment we have decided not to expand the number of accommodations we rent.

How can I participate in determining the future of the Centre?
Many of you have made suggestions to us about what the future might be for the Centre. Thank you very much for your commitment to the Centre and the ideas you’ve brought forward. One of our immediate goals is to launch a new membership process, as memberships for all annual members expired at the last AGM, so you can expect to hear more about this process very soon. Over the remaining weeks of the summer we will be reaching out to members and supporters with opportunities to share in the care of the Centre and to help us with discerning the future of the Society. Again,  if you’d like to be one of those who we reach out to,  please be sure that you have signed up for our emails by clicking here
