Information on the work of the Board of Directors,
and the governance of the Naramata Centre Society.
We are operating as a Management Board.
The Centre is currently in a process of discernment, yet the property still requires security and maintenance. The Board of Directors is charged with the responsibility of overseeing the care-taking of the Centre site.
We are an active and engaged Board.
The direction and operations of the Centre and our Society is set and managed by the Board of Directors. To do this work effectively, we meet regularly - primarily by conference call to keep costs low, and to expedite decisions and action. Between meetings, the Board uses task groups to facilitate detailed planning. Our executive team is comprised of chair, vice-chair, treasurer, secretary and communications lead - utilizing skills and experience, and best serving our Society and community of supporters.
As a Board we cannot achieve our goals without your help.
We have had many offers of assistance from people who care about the Centre.
We are deeply grateful for those offers.
The work of the Board, in the coming year, is to ensure proper care and security of the Centre site, and to engage with our members, supporters and the United Church in BC and Alberta to determine the future of the Society and the Centre itself. We will be utilizing volunteers as we go forward, together ensuring adequate maintenance, safety and security of the Centre site, as well as inviting our membership and supporters to dream, vision, and plan alongside us.
