70th Anniversary Reunions
In 2018, Naramata Centre celebrates 70 years as a place of learning, sharing, contemplation, personal growth and spiritual renewal. This is cause for celebration, and celebrate we will! Last summer the 1978-79 Winter Session group organized and held a reunion at the Centre in July, with great joy expressed by participants. Old friends became new again, and years melted away as this delightful reunion unfolded. In honour of the 70th anniversary, we would like to offer other Winter Session and Summer Staff groups the opportunity to do the same.
We have designated two summer long weekends (Canada Day and Labour Day) to allow reunion groups the opportunity to gather for a shorter (3-night) stay, as well as the opportunity to re-live old memories and stay in Alberta Hall. If those weekends don't work for your group, you can also arrange to attend a summer week, or book a 3-night personal retreat during the spring and fall that better fits your availability. Please note that the Centre is not organizing the reunions - that is up to you! If you would like to plan a get-together for your summer staff cohorts or winter session gang, there is now a template for planning and executing such events. You can tailor it to your liking, but it will give you a place to start and provide tips along the way. Read more here and get started today – finding people takes time!
Want to relive your past summer Naramata experiences, or reconnect with past summer staff from across the years? Join us for our Summer Week 4 (July 21-28), when 70th Anniversary Committee Chair and past summer staffer Jane Sanden will be helping facilitate some nostalgic community experiences that draw on the best of Naramata Centre's history. That same week, we invite those who want to relive (or sample) the Winter Session memories and experiences, through our Winter Session Redux program.
