Summer Sessions are hosted weeks where you do not just attend a program, you step into a shared way of living for a few days that feels like a small village by the lake.
Each week has its own theme, its own mix of people, and its own texture. Some weeks feel like singing and laughter spilling out of the Commons. Some feel quieter and more reflective. All of them are held by a simple rhythm that makes space for learning, community, and real rest.
This summer’s theme is Living Simple Rhythms.
Think steady mornings, spacious afternoons, and evenings that leave room for connection, music, and the kind of conversations that happen when nobody is rushing.
A Summer Session is a minimum seven night stay. Guests arrive on Saturday or Sunday and depart the following Saturday or Sunday.
Summer Sessions welcome everyone, all ages and all stages of life, families, singles, friends, and first timers. You choose accommodations that match your style and budget, from simple camping to indoor hotel style rooms, cottages, and larger spaces for bigger families or groups.
Summer Sessions are rooted in the values of the United Church of Canada, with a gentle, open spirituality that welcomes the whole mix of beliefs, questions, and life stories people bring. Every week includes a Spiritual Lead and a Music Lead who help hold the tone of the week through simple practices, story, song, reflection, and optional gatherings. This is a safe and inclusive space for everyone.
Each day is held in a shared rhythm.
Mornings begin with morning music, then registered morning sessions and workshops. Adults choose one of the 4 to 5 morning programs for the week. Children and youth register into their own age based morning programs. Afternoons are open time. Swim, nap, read, walk, make art, explore the village, or stare at the lake like it is your job.
All programming, workshops, and offerings are one simple price. The Summer Session Fee is $275 per adult age 18 and up, and $225 per child and youth age 5 to 17. There is also paid childminding available for children 2 - 4 years.
Evenings include optional drop in Community Offerings, all ages gatherings, music, circles, and pop up experiences offered by staff, leaders, and guests. These offerings shift week to week based on the theme and the gifts people bring, and we can welcome a small number of guest led Community Offerings each week so the pace stays spacious and supported.
Food is self catered, so everyone brings and prepares their own meals, whether that is over a camp stove, in a kitchen in your accommodations, or in shared kitchen spaces including outdoor shared kitchens.
We also have a bursary fund that can help offset Summer Session fees, because we want this to be as barrier free as possible. If cost is a concern, you are warmly invited to apply.
