We are currently recruiting for the following seasonal positions:
Each summer, Naramata Centre hires young adults to provide leadership in our children, youth, and intergenerational programs. Program Coordinators help guide the daily rhythm of Children & Youth programming and support the staff team as they create meaningful, inclusive experiences for participants ages 5–17.
Coordinator roles are available to applicants with previous Naramata Centre Summer Staff experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Co-planning and leading daily program experiences for children and youth (ages 5–17)
- Supporting the weekly schedule, program flow, and overall team rhythm
- Mentoring and supporting Children & Youth Program Staff (and supporting Leader-in-Training volunteers as needed)
- Helping create compassionate, inclusive spaces where kids and youth can breathe, grow, and be fully themselves
- Coordinating communication and problem-solving with the Summer Programs team

- Outdoor adventures
- Inclusive games
- Art creation
- Music
- Simple spiritual practices
- Random joyful moments

Children & Youth Program Staff plan and lead daily program experiences for children and youth ages 5–17. This is good work, hard work,—and work filled with learning about yourself, about leadership, and about what it means to live and serve in community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and facilitating daily activities for children and youth (ages 5–17)
- Leading inclusive games, creative activities, and outdoor adventures
- Helping create safe, welcoming, compassionate spaces for participants
- Working collaboratively with Program Coordinators and the Summer Programs team
- Supporting program set-up, clean-up, and shared community rhythms

Our Leader-in-Training practicum is a volunteer opportunity to learn Naramata Centre’s approach to leadership, build real skills, and experience working and playing in community.
Practicum volunteers attend Summer Staff Training Week (June 28–July 3), then join a team for one or two weeks of the Summer Program, working directly alongside staff in a weekly rhythm of programming, play, and community life.
What you’ll do:
- Participate in Summer Staff Training Week
- Support Children & Youth programming alongside staff (activities, games, creative projects, outdoor adventures)
- Practice leadership and facilitation skills with guidance and support
- Help create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for participants
During Training Week, accommodation is provided in Alberta Hall (shared rooms), with lunches and dinners included.
