Heartwood Bursary Fund

Heartwood Bursary Fund

The Heartwood Bursary Fund is financial support so that cost is not the reason someone misses a week at Naramata. Rooted in long standing community care, this fund helps ensure that children, youth, families, caregivers, and individuals can participate in summer programming when finances would otherwise be a barrier.

How the Heartwood Bursary Fund works

The Heartwood Bursary Fund is simple and trust based. There is no application process, no paperwork, and no approval step.

Support is accessed directly during registration. At checkout, add the Heartwood Bursary Fund for the number of people you would like it applied to (set the quantity to match your group). The bursary is applied automatically.

What it covers
Program fees are covered for children and youth up to age 17 (regular fee: $225).
Adults pay $50 (regular fee: $275).
Each person may use the bursary for one Summer Session week.

It does not cover accommodation, meals, or optional extras.

Funds are limited and shared across the season. We ask guests to use this support only if they would otherwise be unable to attend, and to take only what is needed.

Who the Heartwood Bursary Fund is for

The Heartwood Bursary Fund is available to anyone who needs financial support with program fees, with particular care for:

  • Children and youth
  • Families and caregivers
  • People experiencing financial hardship
  • Those facing disability or health related barriers
  • Young adults

You do not need to explain your circumstances or justify your need. Choosing the bursary at checkout is enough.

Supporting the Heartwood Bursary Fund

The Heartwood Bursary Fund is sustained by the generosity of people who believe that rest, learning, and community should be accessible to everyone.

Gifts to the fund directly support participation in children, youth, and adult summer programs.

A note on trust

We intentionally do not ask people to apply for the Heartwood Bursary Fund. This fund is offered in a spirit of trust and dignity. We believe people are the best judges of their own circumstances, and that access should never require explanation.
