The Centre has immediate need for a dynamic Welcome Host for guest experiences to join our vibrant team. As the main point of contact for all guests, your role is key to initiating the Centre’s tenements of creating a welcoming and accepting community. We’re looking for a people-oriented person who thrives in an energetic and diverse environment.

As our Welcome Host you are an information holder of upcoming activities each week at the Centre: which guests are arriving (for weekly stays/programs), what bookings are at the Centre, and other community engagements. You’re the information glue that holds together the coordination of our day-to-day functions, from ensuring our guests are booked in the right accommodation to helping housekeeping and maintenance stay in the know.

This is a full time, temporary contract position through fall (end date negotiable) with the possibility of on-site accommodation for the right candidate. Anticipated work schedule is Thursday through Monday, including weekends.

Key areas of responsibilities:

  • Main reception and guest registration duties including in-person, telephone, and e-mail inquiries

  • Greet guests upon arrival at the Centre and check them into accommodation

  • Act as point of contact for groups using Centre facilities

  • Administrative support for Centre operations including guest services and management team

Technical Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent and five (5) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and G-Suite with the ability to use or quickly learn a variety of web-based software

  • Strong computer skills and somewhat technically savvy

General Competencies:

  • Strong administrative and hospitality / customer service background

  • Self motivated, proactive and trusted with confidential data

  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evening and weekends (primary)

  • Work well in a team environment
